Shares of Tweeter take flight

SAN FRANCISCO — Facing heated interest in its stock, Twitter hasn't even begun trading yet but a company with a similar name enjoyed a stock blast off in an apparent mix-up.

Shares of Tweeter Home Entertainment Group rocketed 503% to 4 cents on Friday. That was after pulling back from a pop to 15 cents. Tweeter is a consumer electronics retailer.

Tweeter, whose stock is exchanged over the counter, trades under the ticker symbol TWTRQ. Twitter, which filed regulatory documents Thursday, plans to trade under the ticker symbol TWTR.
