SAN FRANCISCO: This week two California district attorney's told app-based taxi alternative companies they were operating illegally in the state and needed to be more heavily regulated.

We knew that the traditional taxi industry hated Uber, Lyft and Sidecar, because they threaten their businesses. But with a possible government crackdown, could this be the end for a service consumers have embraced wholeheartedly?
