Is Spectrum down? Thousands report outage issues in Texas

Tens of thousands of Spectrum customers, mostly in central and north Texas, reported problems with their services on Friday, Sept. 26.

According to the outage tracking website Downdetector, reports peaked at around 1:43 p.m. CT, with more than 25,000 outage reports. As of 2 p.m. CT, reports began to slow down, with about 17,000 customers reporting problems.

The problems were confirmed by Spectrum with a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying they were working to fix the issue.

“Spectrum Customers, we are aware of an interruption of services in parts of Central and North Texas. We are working to restore services as quickly as possible and appreciate your patience,” Spectrum said on Friday.

Many users reported issues with their internet service.
