Easter Egg Roll ticket lottery is open
The ticket lottery for this year's White House Easter Egg Roll is open.
Between Monday and noon ET on Thursday, people seeking tickets can enter the lottery at www.recreation.gov; tickets are free of charge and cannot be sold.
The Easter Egg Roll itself is April 6, a Monday. The event is for children age 13 years and younger, and their families.
This year's theme: "#GimmeFive," a celebration of the fifth anniversary of first lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move!" initiative.
"Mrs. Obama is challenging Americans across the country to #GimmeFive things they are doing to eat better, be more active, and lead a healthier life," says a White House statement. "Individuals and families can get involved by sharing on social media five things they're doing to be healthy and passing on the challenge to others with #GimmeFive."
