Another Carnival ship gets a Guy Fieri eatery

The Galveston, Texas-based Carnival Breeze is the latest Carnival ship to boast a barbecue eatery designed by celebrity chef Guy Fieri.

An overhaul of the 3,690-passenger vessel in recent weeks included the addition of Fieri's Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse — a concept that first debuted in 2016 on the 3,690-passenger Carnival Magic. Two other Carnival ships, Carnival Vista and Carnival Dream, also now have one of the venues.

The Pig & Anchor menu features Fieri's Championship Pork Butt, Blue Ribbon Chicken, smoked Andouille sausage and Sliced Smoked Round of Beef. Fieri’s take on traditional barbecue sides also are on offer including Mac Daddy Mac n Cheese, Old Skool Potato Salad and Scratch-Made Slaw. The food items are available to passengers at no extra charge.

The overhaul of Carnival Breeze also brought the vessel a version of Carnival's signature Alchemy Bar, a pharmacy-themed lounge where mixologists “prescribe” colorful concoctions.

The overhaul took place at the Grand Bahama Shipyard in The Bahamas and lasted two weeks.

Carnival is in the midst of a multi-year, $500 million-plus upgrade program that is bringing these venues and others to many of its 25 vessels.

Carnival Breeze sails weekly out of Galveston year-round.
