The Golden Globe for best dressed goes to Teyana Taylor's diamond thong
Anna KaufmanThe Golden Globes red carpet saw plenty of head-turning fashion moments as time-honored titans and buzzy new stars alike paraded down the first promenade of the 2026 awards show season.
While some stars opted for a pop of color, the overwhelming tone of the night seemed to be an allegiance to old Hollywood glamour. From Amanda Seyfried to Kate Hudson to host Nikki Glaser, celebrities seemed to ditch 2025's "naked dress" trend for simpler silhouettes, in white, silver and baby pink.
The Globes, known as one of the looser affairs of the season, often sees stars sit back at their tables and imbibe, sometimes leading to more candid acceptance speeches than usual. This year, Glaser returned as host. The comedian told USA TODAY recently that she's ready to roast Hollywood, but plans to dial back any Ozempic jokes.

Before the ceremony begins, though, it's all about the fashion. Read on for a rundown of our favorite looks from the carpet − and in no particular order.
'Sinners' star Wunmi Mosaku's glowing reveal
"Sinners" star Wunmi Mosaku lit up the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet Sunday night with both her fashion look and a surprise pregnancy reveal.

The 39-year-old Nigerian-British actress hit the first official awards show of the season donning a canary-yellow gown and caressing her bump as the cameras flashed. Mosaku paired the custom floor-length Matthew Reisman gown with a simple updo and refined, if not glitzy, jewelry accents.

Her red carpet announcement coincided with a personal essay she wrote for Vogue about motherhood and her pregnancy. "It's delicate and fragile," she wrote. "Scary and awe-inspiring. Humbling and deeply profound."

'Heated Rivalry' star Hudson Williams' fiery debut
In a dripped-out designer fit featuring a Giorgio Armani suit, Christian Louboutin shoes and Bulgari jewelry, "Heated Rivalry" star Hudson Williams proved himself the portrait of young Hollywood.

The 24-year-old actor's Bulgari snake necklace added some necessary edge and flair.
'Song Sung Blue' actress Kate Hudson's stunning look
Kate Hudson's Golden Globe fashion look is making our hearts sing.
In a beautifully slinky fish-tailed number, the "Song Sung Blue" proved that all that glitters isn't gold – sometimes it's silver. The actress, who is up for an award for her performance in the film, paired a classic cut with an inventive blend of fabric to dazzle on the carpet.

The gray silk gown was designed by Giorgio Armani Privé and featured silk fringe and Swarovski rhinestones details. For her glam, Hudson kept it simple and glowy with a natural makeup look and wore her hair in a simple low bun.
'Hedda' star Tessa Thompson's jewel vibes
Tessa Thompson was a welcome pop of color on the carpet, shimmering in olive green.

Thompson, nominated for her role in the romantic drama "Hedda," stuck with the evening's classic theme, pairing the sleek shape of her gown with a unique shade and texture.
'Long Bright River' actress Amanda Seyfried's angelic look

Amanda Seyfried was a vision in white.
Looking absolutely stunning and angelic, the "Long Bright River" actress donned a figure-hugging white Versace gown. The lightly scalloped look was paired with some heavy Tiffany & Co hardware, with her blond locks swept up into an Old Hollywood updo.
Her Sunday look was a departure from the night before at the AARP Awards, where she wore an all-black power suit. At the Globes, she's also nominated for her role in "The Testament of Ann Lee."
Colman Domingo's red carpet looks never miss

Another red carpet, another unstoppable Colman Domingo look.
The "Wicked: For Good" star wore a custom Valentino suit, its slick black fabric adorned with a smattering of silver stars.
Speaking to USA TODAY on the red carpet, Domingo said: "It's ivy. It's beautiful diamonds. It's being in a beautiful garden. But still being very austere and simple and monochromatic black."
Miley Cyrus oozes coolness and edge in YSL

Naturally, Miley Cyrus oozed coolness and edge on the Golden Globes red carpet with her all-black YSL fashion look.
Her sequined look, adorned with over-the-top sleeves and blacked-out shades, brought a more avant-garde shape to a carpet dominated by simpler cuts.
The singer/songwriter was nominated alongside Marc Ronson for her song "Dream As One" from the James Cameron-directed film "Avatar: Fire and Ash."
Selena Gomez's old Hollywood glam

Selena Gomez arrived arm-in-arm with husband Benny Blanco, pairing a deep-rouge lip with a classic '50s updo.
According to USA TODAY's Bryan Alexander, who was inside the ballroom, Gomez and Blanco were the first stars to arrive inside as staff were still cleaning wine glasses. They walked in serenely hand in hand, looking for their table.
Jenna Ortega gets the Golden Globe for best goth look

In her signature gothic style, Jenna Ortega was fringe-tastic on the Golden Globes red carpet.
With capped sleeves and saucy side-cutouts, her Dilara Findikoglu-designed dress added an imaginative silhouette to the style of the night. For her glam, Ortega kept it subdued but still vampy with a smoky eyeshadow and dark lipstick.
Teyana Taylor has fun with it at Golden Globes
Teyana Taylor sizzled on the red carpet, challenging the night's more conservative mood with a dress still in simple black but defined by bold cutouts.

The back also added a playful nod to the popular whale-tail trend of the 2000s, vindicating Vogue's theory that 2026 is the year of the crack. Taylor wore a custom Schiaparelli floor-length gown that featured a diamond-encrusted bow design that sat over a bedazzled thong.
'Sinners' breakout star Miles Caton makes Golden Globes debut

Miles Caton is owning the award show season already. The "Sinners" breakout star elevated menswear to an art on the Golden Globes red carpet as he sported a chocolate brown zoot-suit with gold threading.
Jennifer Lawrence's ethereal red carpet look (and bangs)
Jennifer Lawrence bucked the traditional tone of the carpet with a risque floral number from Givenchy.
Lawrence, nominated for "Die My Love," proved stars aren't quite done with the naked dress yet, sporting a sheer fabric blooming with white and dusty rose flowers.
'The Pitt' star Noah Wyle trades scrubs for a dapper suit
Noah Wyle, an early winner at this year's Golden Globes, sported a rich brown double-breasted suit on the carpet. A demure look generally, but daring for the "Pitt" star, Wyle walked alongside his wife, Sara Wells, who was celebrating a birthday.
"I hope you like your party," Wyle joked to Wells from the stage after his win.
Emma Stone's buttery yellow dress
Emma Stone's butter-yellow Louis Vuitton two-piece brought a touch of whimsy to the ceremony, pairing her classic cropped red locks with a multi-textured yet sleek getup.
