The Oscar for best dressed goes to … See Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, more stars
Stars like Felicity Jones and Chase Infiniti wore pastels. Demi Moore, Nicole Kidman and Teyana Taylor flocked to frocks with feathers. Here are our favorite looks of the evening.
Erin JensenBefore duking it out for gold, Sunday's Oscars attendees likely already faced "One Battle After Another": finding that perfect dress, tuxedo or ensemble in between, dodging the prickly pins of tailors in fittings, and sitting, sometimes hours for perfectly coiffed hair and flawless makeup.
And after a team put the celebrities together – perhaps not dissimilarly to "Frankenstein" – Hollywood's biggest names sauntered down the red carpet outside of Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre, hoping to reign (Marty) supreme on best-dressed lists everywhere.
Stars like Felicity Jones and Chase Infiniti wore pastels. Demi Moore, Nicole Kidman and Teyana Taylor flocked to frocks with feathers.
Here are our favorite looks of the evening, in no particular order.

Nicole Kidman

We'd be telling a very big, not-so-little lie if we didn't reserve a place on the best dressed list for the one and only Nicole Kidman. The "Scarpetta" actress stunned in a strapless Chanel number with feathered peplum and skirt. The look is so good that it makes us blush.
Teyana Taylor

Fashionable birds of a feather flock together.
"One Battle After Another" actress Teyana Taylor, who has been our awards show fashion darling, also donned Chanel for tonight's Oscars, selecting a playful black and white number with a sheer midriff that showcased her famous abs.
Gwyneth Paltrow

We're not sure if Gwyneth Paltrow ping-ponged between designs, but she looked every bit a champion while presenting the inaugural Academy Award for casting in Giorgio Armani Privé. Flesh-colored pants kept the "Marty Supreme" actress from revealing too much in the silk, split gown.
Kate Hudson

Good times never seemed so good until we saw "Song Sung Blue" star Kate Hudson in her plunging Giorgio Armani Privé gown that glistened on the carpet like sea glass.
Elle Fanning

Elle Fanning's Givenchy dress has more than just "Sentimental Value."
The ballgown is adorned with clusters of silver wisteria, mirrored in Fanning's Cartier jewelry.
Rose Byrne

Rose Byrne, star of "If I Had Legs I'd Kick You," had a leg up on the others in a black strapless gown with three-dimensional metallic florals sprouting across the Dior design and its train.
Emma Stone

Emma Stone shimmered in a simple empire waist design with cap sleeves by one of her favorite fashion houses, Louis Vuitton. The "Bugonia" actress seemed to have fun showing off the backless number on the carpet.
Felicity Jones

The word felicity means intense bliss, and Jones' sunny frock could not make us happier. The Prada gown, with peek-a-book paneling, is timeless and chic with tulle and pearl embellishments.
Wunmi Mosaku

"Sinners" actress Wunmi Mosaku needs not ask for forgiveness for her glitzy emerald gown. Dressing a bump can be tricky, but Mosaku shines in the Louis Vuitton sequin gown that hugs her curves.
Jessie Buckley

"Hamnet" heroine Jessie Buckley nailed an allusion to Grace Kelly's ensemble for the 1956 Academy Awards, E! pointed out on its red carpet pre-show. The off-the-shoulder Chanel number color-blocked a vibrant cherry and pastel pink that allowed the actress to pop on the carpet.
Shaboozey

Shaboozey remixing the classic penguin suit is music to our ears. The "Good News" singer looked dashing in a cropped jacket, wide-leg pants by Campillo and eye-catching accessories.
Pedro Pascal

Minimalism looks good on Pedro Pascal.
The member of "The Fantastic Four" sits among our best dressed thanks to his sharp Chanel ensemble that is tailored to perfection. Sans jacket, Pascal made a statement with a bursting floral that accented his tuxedo shirt with pearl buttons.
