Scott Probst, the brother of "Survivor" host Jeff Probst, has died. He was 58.
Their brother, Brent Probst, confirmed Scott's death in an Instagram post on Monday, May 11. USA TODAY also confirmed the news with CBS.
"Some sad news, our brother Scott is no longer with us. He was a great brother, son and friend. I will miss him so much," Brent Probst captioned a photo of Scott, sitting with a dog wearing a cap and t-shirt on the beach. "I'm so sad he is gone."

Details about Scott Probst's death, including date and cause, have yet to be announced publicly.
Scott Probst is listed as an art assistant for early episodes of "Survivor" as well as a camera assistant, grip and video engineer for two dozen episodes in the early 2010s, according to IMDb. He also produced video games, including the historical action game "Medal of Honor: European Assault" and the action adventure game "Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight."
Jeff Probst has hosted every season of the pioneer reality competition series, which has been on the air since 2000. The Emmy-winning host also serves as an executive producer for the show. The series is set to wrap its 50th season when the finale airs Wednesday, May 20.

Scott Probst's death comes less than two years after the death of their mother. The brothers are the sons of Barbara Probst, the National Academy of Dramatic Arts-trained French actress who came from a lineage of French performers. Barbara Probst died in November 2024 at 85, with "Survivor" recognizing her death in a Season 47 tribute.
