Fans visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland in California over the weekend were in for a major surprise when the Mandalorian removed its helmet to reveal Pedro Pascal.

Video shared May 16 on Star Wars' official Facebook page shows Pascal, 51, in the Mandalorian costume, warming up to welcome guests, while joking, "Don't make it too obvious it's me." Pascal plays the titular Mando Din Djarin in "The Mandalorian and Grogu".

As guests entered Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Pascal can be seen casually leaning against a ledge as the host remarks, "Mandalorian, do you have anything to say before we send our travelers on their journey?"

Pascal then removes his helmet, eliciting delight and excitement from the group of riders, one of whom even drops to the floor.

"Now you all have to die because you've seen my face," Pascal jokes before shaking hands with the fans and taking photos with them.

The Millennium Falcon takes riders on "a thrilling interactive smuggling adventure," and starting May 22, the release date for “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu," the ride will offer a "new mission with the Mandalorian and Grogu," according to the attraction's website.

Additionally, "for the first time, the crew will be in control of the destination, leading to potential adventures on Bespin, the wreckage of the second Death Star around Endor, or the bustling city-planet, Coruscant," Disneyland said in an April 28 news release.

“Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” star Pedro Pascal meets with guests at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland in Anaheim, California on May 16, 2026.

Pascal was joined by fellow "Star Wars" actor Sigourney Weaver, director Jon Favreau and Lucasfilm President and Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni during the visit. After riding the attraction, the group posed for photos alongside The Mandalorian and Grogu in front of the Millennium Falcon.

Pascal later also met with fans visiting the Galaxy's Edge and watched the debut of "The Curious Child", a "limited-time nighttime projection featuring Grogu's memories" inside Galaxy's Edge with Weaver, Filoni, and Favreau.

Disneyland expands Galaxy's Edge

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which opened at Disneyland Resort in 2019, also expanded recently to include "different points of the Star Wars saga."

"Black Spire Outpost is rolling back in time several decades, enabling guests to experience multiple eras of the planet’s rich history, including the Galactic Civil War and New Republic, as well as the Age of the Resistance and First Order," Disneyland said, adding Darth Vader, Leia Organa, Han Solo and Luke Skywalker will join "existing characters that roam the Outer Rim outpost."

'Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu' release date

"Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu" is scheduled to release in cinemas on Friday, May 22, seven years after the divisive sequel trilogy closer "The Rise of Skywalker."

The new film continues the adventures of the armored warrior Mando (Pascal) and his adorable apprentice and adopted son Grogu from the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian" as they "encounter a giddy gaggle of Anzellans, ruthless bounty hunters, and the nefarious Hutt Twins who threaten Djarin," according to the film's synopsis.
