Vote for your favorite food truck at the Jersey Shore

Food truck season is about to begin, and we are kicking things off with a friendly competition.

Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport will host its first food festival of the season, the three-day Jersey Shore Food Truck Festival, Saturday, May 23, through Monday, May 25. Nearly three dozen food trucks serving everything from seafood and tacos to ice cream and old-fashioned sodas will attend, and our APP Readers' Choice Food Truck Contest will determine your favorite.

Votes can be cast weekly, and the winner will be announced on the first day of the festival.

Here are the rules:

• Voting for Round 1 begins Wednesday, April 29, and ends at 11:45 p.m. Friday, May 1.
• You can vote daily — once per bracket, per round.
• The results will be shared next week, when Round 2 begins.

• Italian Festival & Wine Tasting: Saturday and Sunday, July 25 and 26
• Latin Festival: Tacos & Tequila: Sunday, Aug. 2
• Surf & Turf Seafood Festival: Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 15 and 16
• BBQ & Craft Beer Festival: Saturday through Monday, Sept. 5 to 7
• Food Trucktemberfest: Saturday, Sept. 12

Festival admission is included with racetrack admission, which costs $7 for general admission and is free for children 12 and younger. Food prices vary by vendor. There is no charge for parking, and the festivals take place rain or shine.
