Taylor Momsen hits the stage after 'poisonous' spider bite incident

Edward SegarraTwo years after being bitten by a bat onstage, Taylor Momsen is still fighting off some fearsome critters.
The former child star and Pretty Reckless lead singer, whose band is currently touring with AC/DC, revealed on social media that she was hospitalized for a "poisonous" spider bite.
"Hospital today, show tomorrow," Momsen, 32, wrote in an Instagram post Tuesday, April 14. The alternative rocker included a close-up photo of her infected leg, which was covered in red splotches.
"Poisonous spiders are NO BUENO 🕷️🕷️" Momsen added. "But the show must go on. See you tomorrow Mexico City."
The Pretty Reckless and AC/DC currently have a show scheduled for Wednesday at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, according to the bands' official websites.
In a follow-up Instagram post Wednesday, Momsen offered fans a glimpse at her hospital stay, with the singer sharing a photo of herself holding up a compress bag to her forehead, as well as a video showing Momsen being wheeled through the hospital on a gurney.
"Or I just spend the night in the hospital," Momsen captioned the post. "Thank you to the amazing doctors who, well, they know."
USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Momsen and The Pretty Reckless for comment.
Momsen's health scare comes two years after The Pretty Reckless songstress was bitten by a bat onstage while performing in Spain. At the time of the May 2024 incident, Momsen shared on social media that she would need to undergo "rabies shots for the next two weeks."
But the "Gossip Girl" alum maintained a sense of humor about the situation, joking that the hospital staffers who treated her "dubbed me #batgirl after seeing it on the local news that morning."
Following their scheduled Mexico City concert, Momsen and The Pretty Reckless will resume their tour on June 5 with an appearance at the Rock im Park festival in Germany, per the band's official website.

There's not much that can keep Momsen away from the stage.
The rock singer, accompanied by her band The Pretty Reckless, performed in Mexico City on Wednesday, with Momsen later sharing concert footage of her return on Instagram.
"After spending the night in the ER, the great doctors of Mexico made it so I could see all you amazing people tonight," Momsen wrote in the April 16 post. "I'll update you on my health another day, tonight was for all of you. Mexico, you were amazing. Thank you for so much love. We love you and will return!"

Several of Momsen's fans and musical peers took to the comments section to wish the singer a speedy recovery, with some poking fun at her history of animal-related injuries.
"The creepy crawlies just can't keep their fangs off of you!" fellow rock singer Alissa White-Gluz wrote on Instagram.
"Good lort girl!!!" Halestorm singer Lzzy Hale commented. "The creatures of the night are coming for [you]!! Can't hold [you] down [though]."
