Kelly Clarkson will return to 'The Voice' amid end of daytime TV show
KiMi RobinsonKelly Clarkson might be stepping away from her daytime show, but she won't be off TV altogether because she is returning for another season of "The Voice."
The 44-year-old "American Idol" winner will join Adam Levine as a coach on "The Voice" Season 30, the NBC show announced May 7.
The news comes three weeks after the competition show revealed Team Adam's Alexia Jayy as the winner of Season 29. The season, dubbed "The Voice: Battle of the Champions" with returning coaches Clarkson, Levine and John Legend, featured only three coaches for the first time and, unlike past seasons, was pre-recorded instead of airing live.

Clarkson, who was "Idol's" inaugural winner in 2002, first brought her singing competition show expertise to NBC on "The Voice" Season 14, which aired in 2018. She replaced fellow "Idol" breakout star Jennifer Hudson as a coach alongside Levine, Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys, and saw her first ever mentee, Brynn Cartelli, take home the win.
With the show constantly rotating celebrity coaches in and out, Clarkson stayed on for eight straight seasons, snagging four wins. She came back for Season 23 before making a grand return for Season 29.
'Kelly Clarkson Show' ending after ex Brandon Blackstock death
On Feb. 2, Clarkson announced that her Daytime Emmy-winning "Kelly Clarkson Show" will end after seven seasons.
NBCUniversal's news release described Clarkson's move as "personal decision to step away from hosting a talk show after this season."
"This was not an easy decision — but this season will be my last," Clarkson wrote in an Instagram post. "Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this chapter of our lives."
In August, her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock died at 48 years old following a three-year battle with skin cancer. They had two children together: River Rose, 11, and Remy Alexander, 9.
She continued, "This isn't goodbye. I'll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on 'The Voice' from time to time … you never know where I might show up next."
