George Clooney regroups Casamigos pals for new non-alcoholic beer
A new non-alcoholic beer has some celebrity Oscar-winning star power behind it.
George Clooney, along with nightlife entrepreneur Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman, founder of Discovery Land Company, have launched Crazy Mountain, a new non-alcoholic line with a lager and a lime-flavored beer, scheduled to become available in select markets this week and is available now on the Crazy Mountain website ($27.98 for two six-packs).
Gerber and Meldman joined Clooney in creating the Casamigos tequila brand in 2013, which they sold in 2017 for a reported $1 billion.
"We love beer, we just don't always want the effects that come with it," said Clooney, who's won Oscars for supporting actor (“Syriana”) in 2005 and producing ("Argo") in 2012, in a news release.

Crazy Mountain non-alcoholic beer contains about 65 calories per can. Both varieties "are clean, crisp, and crafted to deliver the same experience without the after-effects," according to the news release.
Clooney & Co.'s new brew isn't the first non-alcoholic beverage with celebrity backing. Actor Tom Holland co-founded his BERO line of non-alcoholic beers in 2024.

Before that, model Bella Hadid became a co-founder of Kin Euphorics, with a line of drinks "tailor made to serve your mood in 2021, while Katy Perry helped launch De Soi, a "nonalcoholic apéritif" with natural botanicals and adaptogens the next year. Also in 2022, Blake Lively founded Betty Buzz, and Kylie Minogue launched a non-alcoholic wine brand.
This non-alcoholic brand bonanza has coincided with a decline in alcohol consumption by many U.S. adults, especially younger Americans.
Overall, a record low percentage of U.S. adults (54%) say they consume alcohol, according to a Gallup poll from August 2025. That's down from 58% in 2024 and 62% in 2023, Gallup found.
The founders of Crazy Mountain can relate, describing the beer in the promotional material as "a new kind of beer – one made for good times and clear minds.""This isn't just a beer – it's a choice," Gerber said in the news release. "Crazy Mountain belongs to everyone pushing for more and wanting to live wide open – whether it's riding the biggest wave, climbing the highest mountain, the fight they show up for, or the dream they refuse to let go of. It's beer, only freer."
