Panera launches 2016 menu. What items were popular 10 years ago?

Panera is jumping on the 2016 bandwagon and winding back the clock to a simpler time – the launch of PokémonGo, the Mannequin Challenge and, in the restaurant chain's case, bread bowls.

In tandem with the ongoing nostalgia for 2016 on social media, Panera Bread Company has created a 2016 menu, featuring four items that were extra popular with customers a decade ago.

"These menu favorites defined that era for a reason, and featuring them in this limited-time meal felt like the perfect way to give guests a little comfort, fun and flavors that truly stand the test of time," Panera Chief Marketing Officer Mark Shambura said in a news release.

Launched on Jan. 16, the 2016 menu is only available in the Panera Bread mobile app. MyPanera reward members may get $5 off the meal on Monday, Jan. 19 only.

What does the Panera 2016 menu include?

Panera Bread Company's 2016 menu includes the Bacon Turkey Bravo, made with oven-roasted turkey breast, applewood smoke bacon, white cheddar, mixed greens, tomatoes, salt and pepper, and Signature Bravo sauce, all on Tomato Basil Miche.

Each of the items presented on the 2016 menu were already available at Panera, but these classics were especially popular 10 years ago:

  • Bacon Turkey Bravo: Oven-roasted turkey breast, applewood smoke bacon, aged white cheddar, mixed greens, tomatoes with salt and pepper and Signature Bravo sauce on Tomato Basil Miche
  • Broccoli Cheddar in Bread Bowl: Chopped broccoli, shredded carrots simmered in a cheese sauce, served in a bread bowl made to eat
  • Chocolate Chipper Cookie: Semi-sweet chocolate chunks and milk chocolate flakes
  • Agave Lemonade: Lemon juice, sugar, agave nectar and water

Where is the Panera 2016 menu available?

Panera's 2016 menu is available in all markets, specifically through the Panera Bread mobile app.

How long is Panera's 2016 menu available?

According to a Panera statement, the 2016 menu will be available through Friday, Jan. 23. However, all of the menu's individual items will continue to be available afterward.
