Get the blues with McDonald's new Nike Devin Booker sneakers

If turquoise is your color, McDonald's and Nike have a shoe for you. The fast-food chain is giving away 50 pairs of turquoise Nike Book 2 sneakers, designed with NBA star Devin Booker.

McDonald's has a new basketball shoe coming – but you won't find a golden arch on the sneaker.

Instead, these limited edition versions of the Nike Book 2, the sneaker giant's shoe for Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker, feature turquoise. The Nike Book 2 McDonald’s sneakers, which are white and adorned with turquoise arches swooshes, which become available June 2.

Then, MyMcDonald's Rewards members have a chance to win a pair of limited Friends and Family editions of the Nike Book 2 McDonald's shoes, which are all turquoise with white arches, starting Friday, May 22.

McDonald's has game in basketball circles, having occasionally teamed up with sneaker makers on special shoes – and its sponsorship of the McDonald's All-American Games, annual postseason basketball showcases of the top high school seniors.

The turquoise color of the new Nike Book 2 McDonald’s shoes pays tribute to a famous McDonald’s restaurant in Sedona, Arizona.

The location, which opened in 1993, is the only McDonald's in the world with turquoise arches – not golden ones – a nod to the natural red rock scenery. (It's one only four McDonald’s globally with arches in colors other than the traditional yellow.)

“McDonald’s has been part of my story long before the league – from being a McDonald’s All-American alum to giving back through Ronald McDonald House, my roots with the brand run deep,” said Booker, a five-time NBA All-Star, in a statement. Booker played in the 2014 McDonald's All-American Game and Nike dropped the Nike Book 1 in 2024.

“My sneakers have always been about honoring the places in Arizona that have shaped me over the years and the Nike Book 2 McDonald’s take inspiration from a place I return to every offseason,” Booker said.

From May 22-28, you can enter a sweepstakes to win a pair.

  • Download the McDonald's app (if you haven't yet).
  • Opt into MyMcDonald's Rewards. Watch for the sweepstakes bonus in the Rewards & Deals section starting May 22 and through May 28.
  • To activate your entry, during the entry period, buy one of six new specialty drinks – Dirty Dr Pepper, Orange Dream, Sprite Berry Blast, Blackberry Passion Fruit Refresher, Strawberry Watermelon Refresher or Mango Pineapple Refresher.
