Lottery player in this state wins first Millionaire for Life jackpot

April 29, 2026, 3:18 p.m. ET

An Ohio Lottery player is celebrating a life-changing prize after becoming the first jackpot winner in the new Millionaire for Life draw game, which launched in February.

The winning ticket matched all five numbers plus the Millionaire Ball in the April 27 drawing, securing the game’s top prize of $1 million a year for life, according to the Ohio Lottery.

The winning numbers were 4, 15, 19, 21 and 31, with Millionaire Ball number 4.

The ticket was sold at a Giant Eagle in Cleveland, according to lottery officials. The winning player's name was not disclosed, as you do not have to be publicly identified if you win the lottery in Ohio.

What does the winner receive?

Millionaire for Life’s top prize awards game winners $1 million annually for life.

The game launched in February as a new multi-state offering built around recurring lifetime payouts. The April 27 drawing marked the first time a player matched all winning numbers to claim the jackpot.

Lottery winners in Ohio generally have a limited period to claim prizes.

What is Millionaire for Life?

Millionaire for Life is a multi-state draw game currently offered in 31 states.

Tickets cost $5 per play, and drawings are held daily at about 11:15 p.m. ET.

The game replaced older "for life" lottery products in several states, offering larger recurring prizes and daily drawings.
