The 2026 NBA Draft marked a family affair for the Boozer family.

More than two decades after Carlos Boozer was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round of the 2002 NBA Draft, Boozer's 18-year-old son Cameron Boozer followed in his footsteps. Cameron Boozer was drafted No. 3 overall by the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday, June 23.

After hearing NBA Commissioner Adam Silver call his name, Cameron Boozer shared an embrace with his father, his mother Cindy "CeCe" Boozer, his older brother Carmani and twin brother Cayden, who all sat by his side at his draft table at the Barclays Center in New York.

"Yeah, it's my moment, but it's our moment as a family," Cameron Boozer said moments after putting on a Grizzlies hat. "You see us all sitting here. I wouldn't be here with without any of these guys right here and girls, of course my mom. But it's just a great feeling to be here with them. They've been there with me every step of the way. It's amazing."

Carlos Boozer was all smiles watching his son walk toward the stage.

"Just so proud of him, man," Carlos Boozer said of his son. "The dedication ... his sacrifice. He shows up every single day. I'm just happy for him, man. Take each moment, enjoy each moment. Obviously be where your feet are. This is, something you've been waiting for your entire life, but go enjoy it man. Go enjoy it."

Earlier in the night, Cameron Boozer said he plans to make each team that passed on him regret that decision: "For me not being in (the No. 1 overall pick) conversation, I don't really understand it. I think many years down the line, people are going to look back and say that I should have been."

The 6-foot-9, 250-pound forward averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.4 steals in 38 games (all starts) at Duke this past season, while shooting 55.6% from the field. He was named The Associated Press men's national player of the year, becoming the fifth freshman to win the award, joining Cooper Flagg (2025), Zion Williamson (2019), Anthony Davis (2012) and Kevin Durant (2007).
