World Cup live bracket: Projected round of 16 games. Who plays who?

Teams have made it past the group stages into the 2026 World Cup knockout round. Now comes the fight to advance deep in the tournament.

The round of 32 is underway, the first of what will be five knockout rounds to determine the World Cup champion. It's the first time the knockout round begins with 32 teams thanks to the newly expanded tournament, meaning each squad needed to win an additional match to reach the coveted round of 16.

As the next round starts to take shape and teams start to advance to the next round, here is what the projected round of 16 bracket looks like.

  • Brazil (defeated Japan, 2-1)
  • Paraguay (defeated Germany 1-1 in penalty shootout)
  • Morocco (defeated Netherlands 1-1 in penalty shootout)
