Carnival will sail cruises to new destinations in 2027. See where
Nathan DillerCarnival Cruise Line will sail to some brand-new destinations starting in 2027.
The company’s Carnival Sunshine ship will offer weeklong – and longer – itineraries from Barcelona and Civitavecchia, Italy (the port for Rome) from late May until October 2027. Those cruises will visit new ports such as Bari, Italy; Ajaccio on the French island of Corsica; and Bar, Montenegro, according to a news release.
Carnival will also make its first-ever stops in Africa calling at La Goulette near Tunis in Tunisia and Tangier, Morocco. "In addition to new destinations, Carnival Sunshine will return to several ports not visited by the cruise line in many years, giving guests the chance to rediscover classic favorites such as Genoa, Salerno, Palermo and Catania in Italy; Palma de Mallorca, Spain; and Izmir, Turkey," Carnival said.
Passengers will also have the chance to see a total solar eclipse during a July 25 cruise from Barcelona. The voyage will position "Carnival Sunshine along the path of maximum visibility for the celestial event on Aug. 2, 2027," the cruise line said.

Cruise ships maneuver to optimal viewing spots depending on the weather, and offer sweeping views of the horizon (depending on their position at the time). Carnival Miracle will offer a solar eclipse cruise that year, as well.
Carnival Sunshine's available itineraries from Barcelona and Civitavecchia for the season currently start at $804 per person based on double occupancy, according to its website.
"We’re excited to bring Carnival Sunshine to an expanded lineup of destinations that offer our guests even more ways to explore Europe and beyond," Carnival President Christine Duffy said in the release. "With our first-ever African ports, new European calls and once-in-a-lifetime eclipse sailing, this deployment delivers variety, adventure and memorable experiences our guests look forward to when sailing on Carnival."
