A California-based company is recalling some male-enhancement chocolate products due to the products containing "undeclared active pharmaceutical ingredients," according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The products – Gold Lion Aphrodisiac Chocolate Male Enhancement Sachet and ilum Sex Chocolate Male Sexual Enhancement Booster – contain sildenafil and tadalafil, which the FDA says may pose a threat to consumers because the active ingredient could interact with nitrates found in prescription drugs, potentially causing a "life-threatening" drop in blood pressure.

"Among the adult male population who are most likely to use these products, adult males who use nitrates for cardiac conditions are most at risk from these products," the FDA stated in a March 26 recall notice.

The FDA says the products were distributed nationwide via internet sales by Gear Isle, a Bay Area company that, according to its website, specializes in "adult novelties." The agency also said Gear Isle is notifying customers by notification letter and is arranging for returns and refunds of all recalled products.

Gear Isle has not received any reports of illness or death related to this recall, according to the FDA. Consumers who have the products that are being recalled should stop using them and return them for a refund, the FDA said.

The first product being recalled is Gold Lion Aphrodisiac Chocolate Male Enhancement Sachet with a UPC of 795847916279. This product comes in a 1-count and has an expiration date of June 2027.
