Halo Top is inviting ice cream enthusiasts to unplug and eat ice cream without any distractions this summer.

The company has unveiled its new Silent (á la) Mode Spoon, a limited-edition golden spoon that is designed to turn your phone on "do not disturb" mode.

The spoon is a typical food-safe spoon that doubles as a tool to silence your phone using an NFC (near field communication) chip that simply connects to your device. The chip is compatible with most smartphones, including iPhone and Android devices.

Customers can buy the spoon starting Friday, May 15 at 9 a.m. ET on shop.ilovewells.com for $4.90 while supplies last.

Watch USA TODAY trending news reporter Gabe Hauari test out the spoon in the video at the top of this story.

What is Halo Top?

Halo Top is a popular brand of low-calorie, high-protein ice cream designed to be a healthier alternative to traditional ice cream.

The company, founded in 2011, touts itself as a "light ice cream" that is lower in calories than regular ice cream. There are currently more than 20 core dairy flavors in addition to several dairy-free and vegan options.

Halo Top pints are available nationwide in the freezer aisle at your local grocery store.
