Trump to visit dentist at hospital: Does the White House have a dentist?
Mike StunsonPresident Donald Trump will receive a dental examination later this month at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the third time he has visited the dentist this year.
He went to see his local dentist in Florida in January, and again earlier this month he had a dentist appointment in Florida.
But Trump actually has another dentist he can go to — one a short walk away from the Oval Office of the White House.
Here's what to know about the dental office in the White House.
Does the White House have a dentist?
The White House added a dental office during Herbert Hoover's presidency in the 1930s, allowing the president to have "quick and private" dental work done.
The dental office in the White House is reportedly in the building's basement and has "state-of-the-art equipment and a fully functional operatory."
The dental facilities exist as part of the White House Medical Unit, a 24/7 military unit responsible for the health and safety of the president, vice president, their families and White House staff.
As recently as 2024, the dental office was used by former President Joe Biden, who received a root canal in the White House.
The White House did not say why Trump does not choose the White House to receive his dental care.
"There’s been such lack of candor about the health of the president that even a visit to the dentist raises questions," Jonathan Reiner, a cardiologist who was previously a doctor for Former Vice President Dick Cheney, said on X. "The WH has a dental operatory (Pres Biden had a root canal there) so why a Sat morning visit in Florida? Maybe he just likes this dentist."
