It's a jam-packed election day across the country
Tuesday is set to be one of the busiest and potentially consequential days of the 2026 election cycle yet.
Across six states, Americans will vote in U.S. House, Senate and gubernatorial primaries, among other local contests. Primaries in Kentucky, Georgia and Alabama will again test the power of President Donald Trump's endorsements. Pennsylvania, Idaho and Oregon also vote today.
The primary elections headline a jam-packed month of races set to select candidates to vie for positions in Washington and state government during November's midterms. Here are the races happening today and some of the stand-out contests to watch.

- Three killed in shooting at San Diego mosque. Two teenage suspects opened fire Monday at the Islamic Center of San Diego, killing a security guard and two other men outside the mosque before the suspects were found dead a few blocks away, authorities said.
