Mamdani three for three in endorsements

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani expanded his influence last night, when he swept all three Democratic primaries for Congress where the democratic socialist made endorsements against mainstream liberal contenders.

Democratic primaries to replace longtime incumbents drew attention for demonstrating a generational change for the party. Perhaps the most impressive victory result came with Avila Chevalier, a doctoral student and community organizer, defeating Rep. Adriano Espaillat, D-New York, the head of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus by about four percentage points in a district covering northern Manhattan and a portion of the Bronx.
