  • President Donald Trump is expected to attend the final round of the PGA Cadillac Championship at his Doral golf club.
  • The tournament's final round was delayed by two hours due to rain.
  • Trump's attendance comes with heightened security at the Trump National Doral resort.
  • This marks Trump's first attendance at a PGA Tour event at Doral since 2016.

President Donald Trump is expected to make an appearance on the last day of the PGA Cadillac Championship hosted at his Miami, Florida, golf club, Trump National Doral.

The tournament's final round teed off at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 3, two hours after initially scheduled, due to rain. With the delay, and heavier rain expected late in the afternoon, the Tour hopes to avoid extending the tournament by a day.

Trump arrived in West Palm Beach on Friday, May 1, after speaking earlier in the day at The Villages near Orlando. His flight back to Washington D.C. is scheduled at 8:30 p.m. Sunday evening.

Here's what to know.

Is Trump attending PGA tournament at Trump National Doral?

President Donald Trump is expected to appear at the Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral on Sunday, May 3, during the final round.

With the president on the premises, security around the resort, and especially the Blue Monster course, is very tight. Trump arrived after the third round had been completed, walking through the lobby of the hotel as guests congregated to get a glimpse and photos of the president.

He is expected to arrive on the course during the afternoon of the final round, which means he will likely stay for the trophy ceremony.

When did Trump last attend a Doral PGA Tour event?

Trump last attended a PGA Tour event in 2016, at Doral, before the WGC-Cadillac Championship was moved to Mexico after Cadillac pulled out as the title sponsor.

That started Trump on a near-decade-long beef with the PGA Tour, which heightened when LIV Golf was created and started using his courses for its events, including four straight years at Doral starting in 2022.
