A growing number of places and things in the United States are adding President Donald Trump's name.

Societies have always used street and place names to signal value, such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Ronald Reagan boulevards, or even the nation's capital, which was named in 1791 to honor the first president of the United States.

But the current president's willingness to push his personal brand stands out in modern history, said Reuben Rose-Redwood, a geography professor at Canada's University of Victoria and international expert in how place names shape perception.

"I've never seen this kind of scale to rename places after a living person in the way we are seeing it over President Trump," Rose-Redwood previously told USA TODAY. "The scale of it is unprecedented in modern times."

Trump has long used his name as the cornerstone of his real estate empire's branding with Trump steaks, Trump vodka, Trump University and the Trump Taj Mahal Casino on the list, in addition to Trump Mobile phones, the Trump Gold Card for wealthy immigrants, and the cryptocurrency $Trump coin.

Now, in his second term as president, Trump has added his name to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and to the United States Institute of Peace.

Here's a list of buildings and centers named after Trump:

  • John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts: Trump's name was added to the institution in December 2025 after Trump filled the board with allies during a board takeover. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the facility was renamed in Trump's honor "because of the unbelievable work President Trump has done over the last year in saving the building."
  • President Donald J. Trump Boulevard: Officials in December renamed a 4-mile stretch of Southern Boulevard near the president's Mar-A-Lago golf club in Florida.
  • Palm Beach International Airport: Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation on March 30 to rename the airport after the president after he followed Florida's approval of a plan to donate a downtown Miami property for the site of Trump's presidential library.
  • United States Institute of Peace: The Trump administration renamed the Washington building after the president. The State Department posted a picture of the building with "Donald J. Trump" in silver lettering above the engraved "United States Institute of Peace" in December 2025.

Other items and things named after the president include:

  • U.S. paper currency: Not his name, but Trump’s signature will be added to all future U.S. paper currency starting with the $100 bill, the U.S. Treasury announced March 26, marking the first time in history that a sitting president’s signature will appear on American banknotes. Trump's name will replace the U.S. treasurer's name, which is one of the two signatures currently displayed on U.S. currency, the other being that of the secretary of the treasury.
  • Commemorative gold coin: Featuring his image, the coin is part ‌of a series of coins the U.S. Mint is planning to produce to celebrate America's 250th birthday this year.
  • National Park Service: Some of the NPS's 2026 annual "America the Beautiful" pass designs include Trump's portrait next to George Washington's.
  • Trump accounts: As part of the Republicans' tax plan passed in July, babies born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028, will receive a $1,000 contribution to a savings account that will grow with the stock market. The program was once known as the "MAGA accounts" but was renamed to "Trump accounts" during the legislative process.
  • TrumpRx: The prescription drug government website aimed at helping Americans buy medications at lower prices was launched in February, with Trump saying it was "a very big deal," and would enable people "to save a lot of money and be healthy."
